Twin Lakes Riding Club has attempted to gather some information from varous websites about trails, campsites and other fun places in or around the Sacramento / Placer Counties as well as other places of interest.  If you have information and would like to add to this page, please email us and we'll gladly add it.  If you have comments or experiences, whether good or bad about a certain area, please email us your comments as well and we'll post them for other riders.

Directions:
I-80 from Sacramento, Ca head East (towards Reno)-take Hwy 65 Exit towards Lincoln/Marysville; 8.9 miles; Exit Ferrari Ranch Road turn right; turn right on CA-193 E/Lincoln Newcastle Way; 3.5 miles; left Fowler Road; 1.8 miles; right Fruitvale Road; 1.6 miles; left Gold Hill Road; 0.7 miles; take 2nd right onto Wise Road; 0.5 miles; 1st left Ayres Holmes Road; 0.9 miles; right onto Mt. Vernon Road; 1.2 miles; left Mears Road; 0.5 miles; stay on Mears Road; 0.7 miles; Destination on right
CRONAN RANCH - Cool, CA

Directions:
Approx 12.5 miles south of Auburn, Ca on Hwy 49 off Hwy 80 - exit Elm St from Hwy 80. Turn left coming from the west, go 1 block and turn left at the stoplight onto Hwy 49. Continue traveling south on Hwy 49 approx 6.5 miles until you reach Cool, continue south another 6 miles until you reach Pedro Hill Rd (sneaks up on you, look for a fairly large turnout on the right just before you will turn),turn right and the Pedro Hill staging area is straight ahead. There is a second staging area, Magnolia, which is 1.5 miles farther south down Hwy 49 (across from Venizio Winery - the staging area can be seen from the hwy), turn rt off of Hwy 49 into staging area.  NOTE: the first 6.5 miles of Hwy 49 is winding but very manageable unless you have an extremely large rig.

In Tahoe National Forest, elevation from approx. 3500' to 5000' ranging from easy to challenging; several hundred miles of marked and unmarked trails crossing creeks and rivers    

Directions:
I-80 from Sacramento, Ca head East(towards Reno)-at Auburn take Hwy. 49 to Grass Valley, 24 miles; 3 miles further, at Nevada City, 49 will turn left going to Downieville but go straight and there it becomes hwy. 20. Skillman Flat is about 13 miles from Nevada City on the right. It is clearly marked with a campground sign
